This is a great book with tons of information for a person wanting to learn something about melanin. It's not an easy read and the glossary is not big (for all of the medical terminology). They should have gotten an editor because the grammar is horrible and the citation format is different. It may be a citation format used in medical writings; regardless, it is not good. It's hard to tell when they're paraphrasing a source or quoting it; where the quote begins or ends. Trying to keep up with what info is the authors or the cited studies can be confusing.Otherwise, the information is great. I would have given 5 stars if not for the grammar and source confusion. Some information can be redundant but you have to keep in mind that these are four different papers from four different professionals on one subject. So that means some things are touched on by more than one author. Don't let the negative keep you from getting this book tho, because the knowledge you'll gain is worth the minor trifles...

Chose this book to learn more about my heritage and the advantages we have in melanin and I was very impressed. I really enjoyed the understanding of meditation and the "Eye of Horus", as well as an array of medical terms and vocabulary Dr. Bynum expressed. Anyone who wants to educate themselves on melanin should read this book twice.
Great read. Interesting facts to be learned. Still reading but cant wait to finish.
